ENSENADA, A Paradise Among Vineyards By Juan Tintos Funcke The port city of Ensenada is considered one of Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations boasting an attractive combination of extensive beaches, nearby pine covered mountains, ample valleys, and even unique sites like “La Bufadora”, a marine geyser one of only three of its kind in the world. More recently you can add Ensenada’s world famous “Baja Med” cuisine including locally produced and award-winning craft beer and wines plus a variety of Tourism events including bike rides, Grape Harvest Festivals and of course the world-famous SCORE International off-road races. With so many sites, sounds and things to do visitors to Ensenada can also find an array of lodging services ranging from exclusive boutique hotels surrounded by vineyards to beach front hotels e spas with spectacular views. Much of this progress has been made possible due to the leadership and vision of private sector representatives. One such case is Andres Martinez Bremer, the new President of the Ensenada Hotel Association. After heading the family business, the “Hotel Coral e Marina” for over eleven years, Martinez, a native of Monterrey, Nuevo León in Mexico, is now poised on taking the association and its 46 members to even higher levels. One of his first priorities this year is to launch several promotions with SCORE International. “Ensenada and SCORE have a 48-year relationship thanks to its world-famous off-road races which are the events that generate the greatest benefits for us” said Martinez. “We are grateful for this and that’s why we want race teams, sponsors and their families to come to Ensenada and visit the Guadalupe Valley, our wineries, breweries, restaurants and other attractions as part of a vacation or for a weekend all through the year and not only when there’s a SCORE race taking place” he stated. According to Martínez, to do so, participating hotels will offer discount rates so SCORE members can experience Ensenada’s attractions which many times, because of the activities a race demands, they do not have time to enjoy, “It’s also important to note that our hotels and the rest of our Tourism services in the city are being provided under strict health measures of Biosecurity Protocols”, said Martinez. “We will promote all of this with articles, videos and Testimonials from top Racers and sponsors in Score Journal and in joint Press Releases as well as the SCORE races and with a “Fam Trip” we’re going to organize this year”, Martinez stated.
