VOL. 49 : N o 2 : IN PRINT SINCE '73 INSIDE MAR Still 'Sheltered In' Nearly a year ago, our nation was introduced to a whole new way of living. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many were forced to leave the workplace and sent to work from home; we were all told to physically distance ourselves from others so as not to contract the virus; and we began conducting business meetings and attending school and church virtually. We were also urged to "shelter in," which meant staying inside as much as possible to avoid exposure to the deadly virus. Other than being a major inconvenience, I had not given much thought or concern to being locked away behind closed doors. Then, I read an article by Vikki Burke, a frequent contributor to the Believer's Voice of Victory magazine, that gave me a fresh perspective. In her article, titled "Always Increasing," Vikki stated: "When the 'shelter-in' order was first issued, I said to my husband, Dennis, 'I've been "sheltered in" the secret place of the Almighty for 50 years!'" The secret place of the Almighty! That's the key. The Bible says in Psalm 91:1-3, New Living Translation, "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease." Though there is now a vaccine that works against COVID-19, remnants of the disease still linger. But despite its presence and continued imposition on society, the power and authority of God and His Word still reign! As we remain sheltered in the secret place of the Most High, as we abide under the shadow of the Almighty, He keeps us safe. He is our place of safety, and He will "protect us from deadly disease!" As Vikki points out in her article: "This is our finest hour. When the world has gone completely crazy with fear, hopelessness and despair, we have the answer!"
