Impact to Skill Set Acquisition By far the least expensive and most scalable method for a user to acquire the relevant skills for NFV transformation is to get involved with OPNFV. Just by joining the various modes of community communications, using the tools, and engaging with fellow community members, your team will gain both specific skills pertaining to the VIM, SDN controller, MANO, NFVI, service assurance, performance benchmarking, and so on, and also general cloud native skills such as model driven architectures, microservices and DevOps. There simply aren't enough formal classes in colleges or corporate training institutes to fill the skill set acquisition gap using traditional techniques. Let's revisit the skill set readiness questionnaire from Chapter 2 and see how OPNFV helps: Question Readiness: 1-5 (1 = Not ready, 5 = Completely ready) Why?
