The El Dorado Ranch Resort El Dorado Ranch is pleased to welcome the 34th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE San Felipe 250 Presented by Ford, to the city of San Felipe April 14-18, 2021. SCORE has run the San Felipe 250 Race since 1982, and this 34th running of the race is back from its postponement from the 2020 season due to COVID-19. San Felipe is a small fishing village on the Sea of Cortez, with the 10,000 foot San Pedro Martir mountains in the background. This beautiful city has a population of approximately 25,000 including about 5,000 expats. SCORE International races are very important to this small town, as they generate the most annual economic impact which many of the small businesses depend on. The race brings tourism and promotes San Felipe in the media. SCORE has certainly helped put San Felipe on the map for tourism. The racers also give back to the San Felipe community by donating money and essential supplies to those in need. They support local orphanages, contribute to local non-profits, and racers stay in San Felipe hotels, rental homes, and eat in local restaurants. Located just north of San Felipe is El Dorado Ranch, a 35,000 acre, privately owned getaway community for those seeking escape and adventure. The Ranch is a master-planned community offering affordable retirement and vacation properties. It is also environmentally developed to protect the natural landscape and wildlife, as only 50 percent of the entire Ranch will ever be developed. American developer, Pat Butler, bought the Ranch in 1994 and there are over 7,000 co-owners. Prior to buying El Dorado Ranch, Mr. Butler was an executive and minority owner of Affinity Group, which owns the Good Sam Club, Coast to Coast, Camping World, and other holdings. Before that, he was an international vice president with Marriott Corp. El Dorado Ranch owners enjoy amenities such as a championship 18-hole golf course, five tennis courts, community pools, a pickleball center, activity programs, a pristine beach, bars, and restaurants, as well as an on-site medical clinic. There are also many more activities and attractions nearby, such as fishing and off-roading. Properties available at the Ranch include solar lots starting at $7,500, underground electric lots start at $23,000, golf course lots start at $40,000, and condominiums start at $250,000.
