CHALLENGE
Develop a replacement for an aging, ground-based radar and
communications training system within an abbreviated timeline that
offers multiple independent channels, DRFM and jamming techniques.
SOLUTION
Mercury adapted their existing airborne threat emulator, enhancing it
to model ground-based threats. The out-of-the-box jammer training
system, which is easily transported and can be set up within one hour,
provided what was needed to effectively train radar operators against
advanced electronic attacks.
RESULT
In fewer than four months, the leading defense prime received a
training system with multi-band DRFM and EA jamming capabilities
in a rugged yet portable form factor, and was able to implement
the system without any downtime. Radar and communications
operators are able to run, modify, view and analyze RT spectrum
training scenarios, and view effectiveness reports automatically
generated by the system. Users now operate confidently in the field
with technology backed by years of expertise and can expect ongoing
enhancements for system sustainment.
Mercury extends EA jammer
training system technology to a new
platform in fewer than four months
