Floyd overtook veteran teammate James Rogers as the top cover corner on the team in 2010 and continued to hold that role in both 2011 (with Blake Countess) and 2012 (with Raymon Taylor). Floyd never became a lockdown corner (those are a rare breed) nor a playmaker, notching just three picks in his career, but in a class where many disappointed, the South Carolinian improved every season and played with consistency in his game. 4. TE Kevin Koger: The athletic tight end played in a system that didn't favor his position, though he still found a way to make a dent, catching five touchdowns among 36 grabs from 2008-10. He was the most productive in one year with Brady Hoke, making 22 receptions, including four touchdowns. Koger was a terrific leader during his career, earning the vote from his teammates to captain the Maize and Blue in 2011, and his contribution is largely felt in the way he championed the transition from Rodriguez to Hoke. 5. LB Kenny Demens: Michigan's proud middle linebacker tradition took a hit with the departure of David Harris in 2006 and a three-year run of lackluster performances. In 2010, Demens pushed incumbent starter Obi Ezeh out and was an immediate difference-maker, averaging 10.1 tackles in seven games. Over his final two seasons, Demens had flashes of brilliance as well as moments where he almost lost his job (which did happen for one game in 2012). But he finished strong and at least bridged the gap between Harris and U-M's next great middle linebacker.
