M Michigan, Notre Dame Retain One-Two Hold On Winning Percentage Notre Dame took a step toward supplanting Michigan atop the all-time winning percentage list after a 12-1 campaign that outpaced the Wolverines' 8-5 record. However, U-M still maintains its lead on the Fighting Irish, and is in good position to hold it through the 2013 campaign. Boise State has been making gains on both programs thanks to an incredible seven-year run in which the Broncos have won 10 or more games each season. BSU went 11-2 in 2012 and is 61-5 over the past five seasons, sprinting up the alltime winning percentage list. The Broncos are every bit the threat Notre Dame is to the Maize and Blue's supremacy. There has been little movement over the past year from the majority of teams in the four to 20 range, but there has been a lot of jockeying among the winningest programs from 21-30. In its 12th season, South Florida had enjoyed a spot at No. 20 heading into the 2012 campaign with an overall record of 103-62 (.624). However, a year ago, the Denard Robinson and U-M lost Bulls floundered, going 3-9 to tumble to Notre Dame in 2012, but completely out of the top 30. Clemson Michigan still holds an edge in and Texas A&M, which both went 11-2 last all-time winning percentage. photo by lon horwedel fall, benefited from USF's precipitous drop. In all-time victories, Michigan enjoys a wide margin of 36 wins over Texas and 38 wins over Notre Dame. The Irish are gaining on the Longhorns after falling behind. Colorado, which went 1-11 in 2012, is on the brink of falling off both the all-time winning percentage and all-time wins lists. Nebraska Overtakes U-M, OSU In Big Ten Standings The sample size isn't extensive, but at 12-4 in two seasons in the Big Ten, Nebraska currently ranks first in winning percentage for conference-only games, slipping past both Michigan and Ohio State. The Buckeyes, 8-0 in 2012, also moved ahead of the Wolverines this past season while NU, OSU and U-M are the only three programs to win at a .700 clip or better in league history. Both Penn State and Michigan State continue to sit above .500, though MSU went 3-5 in conference contests last season. Wisconsin has been climbing closer and closer to .500, but will still need five to eight more years of strong success before it will break even. Northwestern has posted a winning record in three of Pat Fitzgerald's seven seasons, but is just 26-30 overall during his career. Still, at that mark, the Wildcats have won at a .464 clip and are actually on the rise in the Big Ten standings. All-Time Big Ten Standings SchoolYearsGW LT Pct.
