3 June 5, 2021 Employer Considerations for Vaccine Requirement Policies Employers are Allowed to Require Vaccinations for Onsite Workers • States banning vaccine passports still allow employers to require vaccination, but it isn't likely to be common practice, creating a competitive advantage or disadvantage depending on the candidate • Increasing number of employers offering incentives (bonuses or PTO etc) for getting vaccinated • Markets where Universities require vaccinations are more inclined to have employers doing the same • States with lower vaccination rates are more likely to have negative impact on hiring and retention where employers mandate vaccinations • Regardless of state policy, guidelines exist to reduce discrimination against those who cannot or choose not to vaccinate for religious or other cultural reasons Key decisions for employers: 1.
