Adding context to your project The first step with every project is defining and understanding your site, and crucial to this is the ability to import essential site context and to geo-locate your 3D model. Add Location enables you to import the physical context of your site with the option to include as much detail as you need to suit your project requirements. These range from high-resolution aerial imagery, to satellite imagery, and basic map imagery. Whichever you choose, you can add the backdrop of reality to your site, model by geo-locating your model, and simulating precise conditions such as the sun's path of travel over your site. Use SketchUp's Shadows feature to carry out accurate sun studies. You can also access the local terrain to understand the contours and level changes across your site.
