Guestlist recommends 1point5. 1point5 started out as a drum and bass producer from Huddersfield, UK who has had a lifelong obsession with music. His inspiration comes from a range of dubstep styles from early duborientated tracks from artists like Skream and Digital Mystikz to today's plethora of 'filth' from the likes of Borgore, 16bit and Trolley Snatcha. Stylistically it is difficult to confine the music to a particular genre, the music contains elements of drum and bass, dubstep and future garage. Following recent plays on Rinse FM as well as countless releases on iTunes such as 'Say Yeah', 'Void' and 'Sleepless' 1point5 is one to watch for 2013. Circus Two manages to avoid sacrificing quality in the name of quantity with 25 bass-driven tracks, on what is a mammoth feature length album in the world of short release electronic music. While Circus Records have built up a reputation as a leading dubstep record label, this album represents an evolution in the versatility of its growing roster, still armed with a bass cannon that will shake the dance floor. This album feels like it has been tailored to satisfy fans of Circus Records' early fanbase (they still produce some of the best tearout dubstep around) as well as their new American fans that embrace the term EDM. The album begins with Flux Pavilion's atmospheric 'I Feel It' and it's a strong introduction. What follows is rave madness with four to the floor goodness from Doctor P on 'Music In Me' and Funtcase's 'Acid Riddim'. Spooky vocals lead us into one of the album's strongest points: 'The Jungle Book' by Slum Dogz is a spine-shattering smash of a tune. Circus Two is presented by Cookie Monsta and Funtcase and the two don't disappoint on their screaming collaboration 'Atomic Bomb'. Cookie Monsta provides some of the best OUR PLAYLIST... moments on this album with cheeky sounds on 'Yow Mamma' and the cinematic 'Come and Find Me' that sounds like a space war with label mate Flux Pavilion. Trap-influenced club bangers 'Out For Da Milli', 'The Combination' and '2 Bad' demonstrate the ability of this group to switch up the style whenever they're ready.
