It's hard to say which is more compelling – the content or the connections! It certainly provides great context for a Peer to Peer edition devoted to collaboration. Producing ILTACON – or any ILTA deliverable for that matter – can only be achieved through collaboration. The collaboration within and among groups of volunteers, staff, business partners, press, contractors, hotel personnel, etc. culminates in a week of glorious education and the celebration of connections new and longstanding. I am thinking about collaboration today as the core of ILTA. ILTA is the trusted resource community for legal tech. How did that happen? Well, in 1980, it started as VSLUG - a group of folks from law firms and law departments working with business partners to improve a specific product/platform. This involved education, advocacy, and – yes – collaboration. As VSLUG became LawNet, and technology moved to local and wide area networks and personal computers, collaboration became about digital as well as in-person collaboration. Our annual conference grew. Our Communities of Interest (then called the "listservs" or "e-groups") were the digital go-to destination for law firm technologists to collaborate on solving common problems. In-person local meetings continued to play an important role in both education and connections. Every ILTA deliverable represents a collaboration. Webinars are the product of ideation by content teams and business partners, planning by project teams, and execution by volunteer speakers. Peer to Peer articles and white papers require authors, editors, and layout team members. The examples could continue for paragraphs. Collaboration is at the core of ILTA. Keep collaborating, dear trusted resource community! Warm regards and hugs to all! ILTA Joy Heath Rush joy@iltanet.org Q&A
