Sensoterra app is my daily tool to make the right irrigation decisions." – Danny Monte, Forecast and Quality Administration and Quality Control Manager, AC Hartman BV • With the utilization of Sensoterra's soil moisture sensors, AC Hartman BV was able to maintain greenhouse crops during governmental irrigation restrictions. • Greenhouses use a drip system combined with overhead sprinklers, and when the government-imposed irrigation restrictions, Sensoterra sensors provided AC Hartman BV the information to optimize irrigation by maintaining moisture levels just above the wilting point. • In the summer of 2018 there was an extreme drought, and AC Hartman BV relied on Sensoterra soil moisture sensors to support irrigation decisions for greenhouse crops, cucumbers, chili peppers, bell peppers, and tomatoes, which helped to maintain crop vitality, prevent permanent wilting, and save more crops. • Growing greenhouse crops require crop behavior to be monitored constantly and production management must be extremely precise in order to meet customer expectations. Proper forecasting is necessary to not only prevent harvest waste, but to find buyers when yield is above expectation.
