Business value Solution Opportunity JUNGLE FARM USES SENSOTERRA SENSORS TO IMPROVE YIELD AND QUALITY OF CROPS "With Sensoterra I can get precise and instant information on whether or not my strawberries need water, even when it might not be obvious from the plant itself." – Blaine Staples, The Jungle Farm • The sensors are being used on matted row strawberries and vegetables and strawberries grown with plastic mulch to understand how much water goes to the plants and how much evaporates. • The Sensoterra technology allows crop yield and quality to increase, decrease the amount of time checking the crops moisture levels manually, and provide more accurate data on when to irrigate and how much water to use. • Jungle Farm is utilizing Sensoterra soil moisture sensors communicating on the LoRaWAN ® protocol on its 30-acre strawberry and vegetable farm in Alberta, Canada in order to make smarter irrigation decisions and increase crop yield and quality. • Jungle Farm is installing 10 sensors of different lengths in its strawberry fields in order to evaluate the crops and compare results on soil moisture and weather data.
