3,000 SKYSENS SENSORS INSTALLED IN ISTANBUL AIRPORT
OPEX savings at Istanbul Airport in predictive
maintenance, asset monitoring and energy
consumption.
•
Although infrastructure is closely monitored, elements such as
condition, location, operational status, or weather maintenance are
important factors to measure as well.
•
Skysens has deployed 3,000 LoRaWAN® sensors to do so, and
there is a plan to install a total of 10,000 in future phases.
•
The sensors benefit airport tenants and airlines in locating vehicles,
personnel, and luggage without GPS needed. There are OPEX
savings in predictive maintenance, accurate asset monitoring, and
reduced energy consumption.
•
In Istanbul, a new airport is being built as a hub between Asia, Africa,
and Europe. So far, the first of 4 phases has been finished which
consists of 2 runways and a terminal for 90 million passengers per
year.
•
The new airport is going to be 76.5 million square meters, 35 km
away from the city center, and is planned for 300 destinations in
100+ countries.
