All for One and One for All As the Kraken Community Iceplex mis- sion statement dictates: The Kraken Community Iceplex is the home of the Seattle Kraken and ice sports in Seattle. We are dedicated to the develop- ment of youth and adult ice sports in Seattle and the Puget Sound region. We hold fast to our commitment to providing our athletes, volunteers, officials and families a safe and fun environment to grow on and off the ice. We value teamwork, competition, discipline, sportsmanship and hard work to cultivate exceptional people and athletes. We are dedi- cated to growing our community of hockey players, figure skaters and other ice sport participants, prioritizing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. At the Kraken Community Iceplex, all are welcome because WE ARE ALL KRAKEN. It's a mission taken very seriously by all involved in the arena. "The best part is that we're giving a lot of ways for people to interact with the rink that would never likewise have that opportu- nity," said Tarajos. "We're trying to draw a lot of dif- ferent people and a differ- ent type of clientele—new clientele." Berreth adds that while there are plenty of transplants who have made a home in Seattle for various reasons, they want to make it a home for all through the pro- gramming offered and the direct connec- tion with the Kraken. "Our learn to skate program is just amazing—I'm in adult learn to skate, and you have a ton of people who are want- ing to get in because we are at capacity," she said. "It's really cool to see how excit- ed people are for learn to skate or learn to play or both. "There's definitely a hockey communi- ty here in Seattle. There are rec leagues, youth leagues throughout the differ- ent rinks that are offered but it's not as prominent as in other states where each has their own team. We don't have that kind of presence yet. But with Seattle being such a booming city, we have so many people moving into the area that come from places where that is their culture, they already know the sport, so there really is a hockey community and a hockey fandom here and now we have our own team to cheer for, so I think we've just been ready and waiting." J "OUR NUMBERS AT PUBLIC SKATING HAVE JUST BEEN OFF THE CHARTS SINCE WE OPENED. EVERY PUBLIC SKATING SESSION IS JUST JAMMED. ALL 750 OF OUR RENTAL SKATES SELL OUT, IT'S JUST CRAZY."
