LoRaWAN ® Remote Multicast Setup Specification TS005-2.0.0 ©2022 LoRa Alliance ® Page 17 of 21 The authors reserve the right to change specifications without notice. Periodicity encodes the Class B ping slot periodicity for the multicast group. The 541 encoding format is the same as the Periodicity field of the PingSlotInfoReq Class B 542 MAC command defined in LoRaWAN Link Layer Specification [TS001]. 543 DLFreq encodes the frequency used for the Class B multicast. This field has the same 544 meaning and coding as the LoRaWAN BeaconFreqReq MAC command Frequency field 545 defined in LoRaWAN Link Layer Specification [TS001]. In regions where the Class B beacon 546 is transmitted following a frequency hopping pattern, DLFreq=0 signals the end-device to 547 use the default Class B frequency hopping scheme. That scheme is defined in the Class B 548 section of the LoRaWAN Link Layer Specification [TS001], section "Frequency-Hopping 549 Beacon Transmission". 550 551 DR is the index of the data rate used for the Class B multicast and uses the same lookup 552 table as the one used by the LinkAdrReq MAC command of the LoRaWAN protocol 553 (defined in LoRaWAN Link Layer Specification [TS001]). 554 555 In case the DLFreq value and/or DR values are different from the Frequency and DR 556 parameters sent with the PingSlotChannelReq MAC command (or read from the default 557 Ping Slot parameters), the end-device SHALL use the multicast session parameters at the 558 time where unicast Ping Slot and multicast Ping Slot collide. 559 560 The end-device SHALL acknowledge the reception of this message by sending a 561 McClassBSessionAns message with the following payload: 562 563 Size (octets) 1 3 Field Status&McGroupID (cond)TimeToStart Table 24: McClassBSessionAns 564 Where: 565 Bits 7:6 5 4 3 2 1:0 Status& McGroupID Fields Reserved for future errors Start Missed McGroup Undefined Freq Error DR Error McGroupID Table 25: McClassBSessionAns Status&McGroupID format 566 McGroupID is the identifier of the multicast group being used, identical to the 567 McClassBSessionReq McGroupID field. 568 569 DRError is set to 1 if the Class B downlink data rate set by the network is not defined. 570 571 FreqError is set to 1 if the DLFreq frequency set by the network is not usable for the 572 end-device. 573 574 McGroupUndefined is set to 1 if the McGroupID specified by the command is not 575 defined in the end-device (multicast group was not created or has been deleted before 576 calling this command). 577 578 StartMissed is set to 1 if the end-device received the request SessionTime, 579 referencing a start of the Class B session window in the past, compared to its internal clock. 580 581
