ALUMNI BIOS Families are greeted by WooSox mascot Smiley Ball © 2022 Matt Wright ALUMNI JACK BELSITO A Worcester native and beverage industry veteran, Jack is currently the Managing Partner at First Beverage Group, which includes upcoming brands Health Ada Kombucha and Essentia Water. He previously served as CEO of Voss, and before that, CEO of JLB and Company, CEO of Snapple Beverage Group, President of Mott's USA and President of RC Cola. Among his many awards is the Frederick Douglass Award from the NY Urban League. 11 WORCESTER HOMECOMING 2022 CARLA BERUBE In her second year as head coach of Women's Basketball at Princeton, Carla's team went undefeated in Ivy League play and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament this year. She previously spent 17 years as head coach at Tufts University, where her team went 384-96 with two D3 championship game appearances and four Final Fours. She also coached the US U17 and U16 National Teams, which were undefeated, winning two FIBA Americas gold medals. One of the greatest all time High School basketball players in Massachusetts, Carla led her Oxford High team to two state championships before going on to star at UConn. Her 1995 UConn team won what was to be its first of many national titles. CAN YOU NAME THE EIGHT COLLEGES THAT CALL WORCESTER HOME? BOB TURNER A graduate of Worcester's Burncoat Elementary School who survived the 1952 tornado, Bob is a proud US Marine Corps veteran who spent nearly 30 years in the nation's capitol working in the government contracting field. He helped found and manage an IT services firm that grew to 300 employees and was later sold to CACI, where Bob continued his career till retirement. Today he remains active in several small businesses.
