P. 2 Canada's population is getting older, with 18.5% of our population aged 65 or more, and that means more people are living with chronic and complex healthcare needs. In addition to the challenges of ageing, some seniors struggle with access to care and managing medication compliance. This ebook looks at how employers can support seniors and caregivers by offering virtual pharmacy services as part of their benefits packages. Supporting older employees. While 22% of Canada's workforce will be eligible to retire before 2026, it's important to recognize that many people work well into their 60s and beyond. In fact, 34% of people aged 55+ are employed. Like the rest of the workforce, these older employees are seeking help from employers to stay healthy. Interestingly, employees 65+ want the same perks, but favour on-site fitness classes over tuition reimbursement. Top three non-pension benefits sought by employees over 55 are coverage for: 1.
