SOLUTIONS THAT SCALE CRA AND TEKTELIC BUILD LoRaWAN ® NETWORK COVERAGE ACROSS CZECH REPUBLIC LoRaWAN ® IS THE RIGHT LPWAN The Internet of Things (IoT) has become more and more popular and has led to the deployment of many useful applications for a range of businesses in different vertical markets using wireless networks. Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) meet various IoT requirements such as energy efficiency, low cost, large coverage, and large-scale deployment. Of all the LPWAN technologies, LoRaWAN ® (Long Range Wide Area Network) is the one massively scaling across the globe because it offers flexible network coverage using its unlicensed band spectrum. LoRaWAN's reach is made possible by its large and active ecosystem, global deployments, and recognition as an ITU-T standard. LoRaWAN connection ensures operational stability and high performance on the radio unit of the gateway. LoRaWAN SCALES LoRaWAN networks can be scaled while minimizing the total cost of ownership and maximizing coverage and capacity. • From one IoT network platform, users can manage their individual sensors, applications, gateways, and solutions from different technologies. • Future-Proof: CRA together with TEKTELIC, based on LoRaWAN ® were able to provide an 80%-coverage in the country (of the total 95%), giving a raise for various IoT solutions. SOLUTION České Radiokomunikace a.s. (CRA), a leading Czech provider of a unique television, radio, and Internet infrastructure, built a nationwide IoT coverage network for the Czech Republic. CRA chose the TEKTELIC KONA Macro Gateway for the deployment because it is an ideal solution for operators and enterprises that require a very scalable low cost LoRaWAN gateway that minimizes network TCO while improving coverage and capacity. With the help of TEKTELIC KONA Macro Gateway and LoRaWAN network it became possible to: • ensure operational stability and high performance on the radio unit of the gateway • reduce gateways intersection of unwanted signals • achieve accuracy within polygons of tens of meters, which is sufficient primarily for use-cases such as geofencing, tracking in logistics, supply chain, security, etc. SITUATION Czech Republic has a widely developed infrastructure of energy and utility metering and needs to establish an IoT network that covers many different types of IoT sensors. The new IoT solution must permit: • End-users to manage individual devices and applications • Access and management of data from different sources including sensors, cameras, and other IoT devices • Replacement of manual utility metering with an internet- based, cloud-enabled solution • Reduction of utility consumption and waste Smart Cities Eastern Europe Gateway Provider Solution Provider Contact info: TEKTELIC Communications Inc.
