36 JULY 2022 | DENVER CATHOLIC T he Catholic Church has a long and dis- tinguished history of supporting life and you should be proud. Two thou- sand years ago, Jesus Christ, the founder of our faith, boldly proclaimed, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly" (Jn 10:10). The Church has always protected life — not just at conception — but at each and every stage of life. Today, his Church in Northern Colorado ensures that life is supported and that everyone lives it abundantly. In the wake of the abortion controversy, many progressive pundits have unfairly labeled the Catholic Church as "pro-birth" and not pro-woman or pro-child and thus not really pro- life, yet nothing could be further from the truth. The Archdiocese of Denver and its ministries are on mission to tirelessly support life from the moment of conception until the last breath. Catholic Charities of Denver stands ready to assist women not just with pregnancy sup- port — but with extraordinary post-natal care. Marisol Health in partnership with Bella Health and Wellness ensure that every child born into this world has the medical care and service they need. Similarly, young mothers encouraged to bring children into this world are provided with services far beyond the delivery room including shelter, food, diapers, clothing and counseling. In these apostolic times, true disciples of the Catholic Church care for every life as we con- tinue to develop. The archdiocese educates over 8,000 students in our Catholic schools where the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ is presented alongside academic coursework, for the Bible tells us to "Keep hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life." (Prov 4:13). Your Catholic Church nurtures and guides every person throughout their life journey. Our priests nourish each life through the Eucharist and reconcile every soul in the confessional. Beyond Birth BY PAUL DUDZIC Chief Mission Advancement Officer for the Archdiocese of Denver Christ the King parish staff and parish Community give praise and thanks to God for our Deacons. We Pray that they may always obtain the grace to continue to give their lives for the evangelization of our parish and diocese.
