The girls are part of a new league in the
Southeastern District that sprang up during
the height of the pandemic as a low-cost option
for girls who want to continue to play hockey
without the expense and time commitment of
playing travel hockey.
The first jamboree was held in 2019 and
continues to grow to its current mark of
approximately 225 girls competing on teams
ranging from the 12 & Under, 16 & Under and
19 & Under levels. P

WHEN IT COMES to NHL free agency, it's a dog
eat dog world out there. Just ask Jack Campbell,
who traded in Toronto Maple Leaf blue for Edmonton
Oilers orange. Jack's "adorable" puppy is along for the
ride after the Port Huron, Mich., native signed a five-year,
$25 million deal. Turns out the dog days of summer have
proven to be pretty lucrative for Campbell.
