• Record any findings in the Compute Optimizer that surprise you? Hint: you might find newer
generations of instances available at a lower price than older generations.
Lab 6: Get Spot Pricing & Compare Savings
• Click on the AWS logo in the top left hand corner of the screen
• This will take you to the Management Console Home screen
• Type "EC2" into the Find Services field and select it when it shows up in the dynamic list under
the search bar
• In the left hand navigation bar select "Spot Requests"
• At the top of the screen you will see a button labeled "Pricing History"
• For each one of the top 5 instances that you recorded in Lab 2:
o Select the instance type from the drop-down list
o Set the Date Range to 3 months
o Record the One-Demand and Spot prices for each instance in the table below then
calculate the savings per day
