LoRaWAN® Regional Parameters RP002-1.0.4 ©2022 LoRa Alliance ® Page 50 of 101 The authors reserve the right to change specifications without notice. 2.8 AU915-928 MHz Band 26 933 This section defines the regional parameters for Australia and all other countries whose band 934 extends from the 915 to 928 MHz spectrum. 935 2.8.1 AU915-928 Preamble Format 936 Refer to Section 4, "Physical Layer". 937 2.8.2 AU915-928 Band Channel Frequencies 938 The AU915-928 band SHALL be divided into the following channel plans: 939 • Upstream – 64 channels, numbered 0 to 63, utilizing LoRa 125 kHz BW, varying from 940 DR0 to DR5, using coding rate 4/5, starting at 915.2 MHz and incrementing linearly by 941 200 kHz to 927.8 MHz 942 • Upstream – 8 channels, numbered 64 to 71, utilizing LoRa 500 kHz BW at DR6 or LR- 943 FHSS 1.523 MHz BW at DR7, starting at 915.9 MHz and incrementing linearly by 1.6 944 MHz to 927.1 MHz 945 • Downstream – 8 channels, numbered 0 to 7, utilizing LoRa 500 kHz BW at DR8 to 946 DR13), starting at 923.3 MHz and incrementing linearly by 600 kHz to 927.5 MHz 947 948 Figure 2: AU915-928 channel frequencies 949 AU915-928 band end-devices MAY use a maximum EIRP of +30 dBm. 950 AU915-928 end-devices SHALL be capable of operating in the 915 to 928 MHz frequency 951 band and SHALL feature a channel data structure to store the parameters of 72 channels. A 952 channel data structure corresponds to a frequency and a set of data rates usable on this 953 frequency. 954 If using the over-the-air activation procedure, the end-device SHALL broadcast the Join- 955 Request message alternatively on a random 125 kHz channel amongst the 64 channels 956 defined using DR2 and on a 500 kHz channel amongst the 8 channels defined using DR6. The 957 end-device SHOULD change channel for every transmission. 958 For rapid network acquisition in mixed gateway channel plan environments, the device 959 SHOULD follow a random channel selection sequence that efficiently probes the octet groups 960 of eight 125 kHz channels followed by probing one 500 kHz channel each pass. 961 Each consecutive pass SHOULD NOT select a channel that was used in a previous pass, 962 until a Join-Request is transmitted on every channel, after which the entire process can restart. 963 964 26 Defined in the LoRaWAN 1.0.1 specification.
