The Australia Pacific LNG Project is an incorporated joint venture between Origin (37.5%), ConocoPhillips (37.5%), and Sinopec (25%), at an estimated cost of $20 billion, starting in 2012. Case Study The mega project involves the development of substantial coal seam gas resources in the Surat and Bowen Basins, a major transmission pipeline, and a multi-train LNG facility on Curtis Island, near Gladstone, Queensland. On behalf of Australia Pacific LNG, Origin is responsible for the construction and operation of the processing facilities, gas fields and pipeline. The Commissioning and Completion unit has a major role to play in ensuring that the assets are commissioned and started-up to specification, with all the required legislative and safety documentation handed over to Operations.
