MOTO RACERS SOAPBOX Moto Racers Voice Their Opinions On The Status Of Racing In BaJa By Dan Sanchez Racing is always changing, but SCORE International’s efforts in listening to its racers is an important part for the continued growth of this motorsport. With lots of discussions among Baja two-wheel racers on upcoming and current rules and safety precautions, SCORE Journal wanted to hear what moto racers had to say. We wanted to get a wide range of opinions and selected a handful of respected racers from across a wide segment of classes to hear what new challenges and obstacles they encounter, and what they suggest can be done to get more riders involved in Baja racing. Racers like Mark Samuels, Jano Montoya, Juan Carlos Salvatierra, Eddie Meek, and Giovanni Spinali all have both similar and unique perspectives on their classes and Baja racing in general. In addition to what these racers had to say, we asked SCORE’s Moto Liaison Andy Kirker, to offer his opinions as to what is being done to further improve safety, rule changes, media exposure, and the costs of racing, in an interview with him following those of the racers published in this issue.
