29 #HERSTORY Breaking the bias on International Women's Day. Alyssa Mandeville Global Private Banking SEI Women's Network Board Member Emily Swope Workforce Development SEI Women's Network Board Member On March 8, 2022, SEI celebrated International Women's Day (IWD), a global recognition of social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marked a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The 2022 theme was #BreakTheBias, which focused on creating a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Imagine a gender equal world. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together, we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias. These photos highlight our SEI women globally, as well as our male allies, striking the #BreakTheBias pose. The pose represents their commitment to celebrating women's achievements, raising awareness against bias, and taking action for equality. The global SEI community came together to celebrate IWD locally in our offices and virtually in our homes. We created a video background to use in virtual meetings to demonstrate our support of IWD along with video featuring employees sharing how they were breaking the bias. April Rinne, advisor, speakerwriter, and global citizen, spoke to our employees and external community about forces shaping the future of work in flux and how leaders and organizations can best prepare for what's ahead. SEI Executive Vice President Al Chiaradonna published a blog post sharing his journey as the SWN Executive Ambassador. We also hosted our Opportunity Series panel session, highlighting four SEI female leaders and their career paths in investing. The event featured Karen Butow, Jana Holt, Kendra Kaake, and Brenna Sermarini. We are looking forward to another International Women's Day celebration in 2023, and we're already saving the date for March 8.
