5 #HERSTORY When I think of "Educate. Inspire. Connect.," I recall the formation of the group and the discussions of the first board members and feeling strongly that we did not want to "pre- define" success for coworkers. The original board believed this group should support the definition of success individual women had for their own careers in whatever place in their career they were in. For women especially, we acknowledged that we typically had to balance the definition of career success with non-career priorities for their families. With that as the backdrop, we then set out to do three main things: educate, inspire, and connect with a goal to offer programs that would be unique and diverse enough to allow women at all levels and points of their career to take something away as food for thought, learn something new, or just be inspired by someone's story. In other words, take from it what you need and use it in your own way to lean towards your personal goals for success. Inspire means to encourage others to follow their professional dreams and assist in the process, where possible. Connect means making connections beyond your teams and department. The mission to support the professional growth of women extends to the broader SEI community. We strive to educate by delivering tools to support the development of women as well as those who serve as allies. We aim to inspire by highlighting the amazing impact of women. We connect by highlighting the importance community and to share diverse perspectives Linda Scavone Director of Risk, SEI Private Trust Company Educate – Provide educational opportunities for women to grow personally and professionally. Inspire – Encourage and motivate women to lift each other up and overcome personal and professional obstacles with the help of each other. Connect – Build a strong network to support one's career goals both within one's own company, as well as externally to support larger goals and growth objectives. Inspire. Connect." means to them.
