G AINING A FOOTHOLD IN COLLEGE ATHLE TIC S THE LEAGUE SECURES A MILESTONE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NJCAA On December 18th, 2020 the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced that it will formally recognize clay target shooting as an emerging sport within the association. On June 23 2022, upon the recommendation of the NJCAA Clay Target Committee, the NJCAA Board Of Regents approved USA Clay Target League as the regular-season clay target vendor. The NJCAA Clay Target postseason event is tentatively scheduled to debut in fall 2024. So it's not a surprise that shooting sports are quickly gaining momentum. Being able to letter is new this year. For a lot of my seniors, this is the first opportunity that they've had to letter in anything and represent their school." —BILL C OBB, Head C oac h, E sc anaba High S c hool, Mis sour i As a woman, I appreciate that gender doesn't dictate how well the student athletes can do in the League. Everyone is on an even playing field and as a female head coach, I feel that is on display for the young ladies that join our team." —M ACAE MCKINLE Y, Head C oac h, K nob No s ter High S c hool, Mic higan RE A D S UMME R 2022 RE A D S P RIN G 2022 2022 A NN U A L IMPA C T R E P O R T | 7
