, U.S. Figure Skating has named Tracy Marek as its first female chief executive officer. Marek brings a unique creative lens to the organi- zation as a 25-year executive marketing veteran in the sporting world. She most recently served as the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers. Marek will begin her role as U.S. Figure Skating's 11th CEO in January 2023, where she will oversee the day-to- day operations of U.S. Figure Skating and build an effective organizational strategic plan. "We're thrilled that Tracy has accepted the position. "Tracy brings a wealth of experience in marketing, brand development and organizational leadership that will be a valuable asset to U.S. Figure Skating's organizational strategy." During Marek's 19-year tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers, she led the organization's marketing, brand and creative strategy. She also spearheaded the branding, vision, community prepared - ness and visibility for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game hosted in Cleveland in February. "I am honored to join the figure skating family. The organiza- tion's legacy of international success and continued membership growth is a testament to the bright future ahead for the sport," said Marek. "I look forward to amplifying the strong foundation created by generations of figure skating athletes, coaches, officials and com- munity members who continually showcase the very best of this remarkable sport. In leading U.S. Figure Skating, I am dedicated to growing the sport further, cultivating an inclusive environment for all and providing the support our membership needs to develop well-rounded champions from the grassroots to the Olympic level." , From Alaska to Florida, USA Hockey's Adult Hockey Program puts on men's and women's tournaments across the country. These tourna - ments are held in destination locations and are exclusive to USA Hockey members. All of USA Hockey's adult events are recreational and registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. This year, USA Hockey is operating six Adult Classics, two National Championships, and the ever-popular Pond Hockey National Championships. One Classic has already taken place over Halloween weekend in Nashville, but coming up in 2023 there are tournaments in March in Las Vegas and Columbus, Ohio. At the end of April, teams will be converging on Anchorage. Then, in May, Lake Placid and Denver wrap up the Classic series for the season. If teams want to get closer to the beach, look no further than the Men's and Women's National Championships that take place every April in Wesley Chapel, Fla. And finally, the largest tourna - ment put on by the Program Services department is the Pond Hockey National Championships that take place every February in Eagle River, Wisconsin. For all events, every player receives a check-in gift and beer tickets. Winners receive extra prizing and in some cases run- ners-up receive prizing as well.
