The majority of growth has been in the Rest of Tasmania rather than Hobart. ‾ Unemployment is at 3.9% in Greater Hobart compared with 3% in the Rest of Tasmania. ‾ 20% of employment in Tasmania is in the Public Sector. ‾ 30% of Public Sector workers are Part-Time while the figure is 37% in the Private Sector. ‾ There were 7K vacancies across Tasmania of which ~13% were in the Public Sector. ‾ Year on Year inflation to the December quarter was 7.7% in Hobart which is similar to the Australian Capital City weighted average of 7.8%.
