PROPOSAL OF SERVICES FOR PURCHASE COLLEGE FOUNDATION | Page 16 Our client teams use pControl (Milestone Group) to manage daily investment and operational functions for client portfolios. This system has ample functionality for interactive portfolio dashboard views, cash flows and balance information, consolidated portfolio and underlying fund views and order processing, compliance against the investment policy through ongoing evaluation of allocation weightings, and valuations for liquid and illiquid asset classes. All rebalancing occurs through pControl in addition to scenario modeling with user-generated inputs. This system gives us more transparency and operational control so that decision-making on behalf of clients is nimble and streamlined based on an informed view of the portfolio. Also, pControl can feed into other external systems we use for investment and risk oversight and reporting. Portfolio monitoring and risk technology We use a suite of third-party and internally developed software for monitoring portfolios and risk on an ongoing basis. Our recommendations are based on an in-depth understanding of each client's unique needs and risk tolerances. Several systems provide holdings-based monitoring, allowing for a thorough evaluation of manager performance and risk metrics. These systems allow for more granular analysis across our investment program and forward-looking assessments that actively monitor the amount of risk in portfolios at the client and investment level. We spend approximately $10 million per year on technology used throughout our investment program. Notable tools and technologies our professionals use include: • Axioma – Provides holdings-level analysis and ongoing monitoring of funding positions, stress testing of client portfolios and extensive quality control checks on risk parameters and pricing changes and ongoing data checks • Aladdin – Provides daily updates to evaluate risk at the manager, strategy and portfolio level • (Private i) Burgiss – Used for monitoring and analyzing positions for private equity vehicles offered through SEI and externally and provides custom reporting • Intex Solutions and Markit – Provides security-level analysis on collateralized debt obligation holdings • Preqin – A performance analysis service for alternative asset class strategies These systems feed downstream to our reporting platform, Advent Portfolio Exchange ® (APX), which we use to generate our client reports. APX incorporates all phases of the investment management process, such as portfolio management, performance analytics, accounting and reporting, for public and private market vehicles. Research and data collection SEI has access to multiple resources that provide us with economic, credit and manager data, such as: • Bloomberg – Source for quotes and news retrieval • InvMetrics – Peer universe data • Lipper Analytical Services – Supplies quarterly data about managers and peer universes • MSCI and Mercer – Sources for manager and peer universe data • Morningstar and eVestment – Used to evaluate and source investments with access to global data and historical portfolio holdings, equities, separate accounts, hedge funds, ETFs, etc. • Moody's Investors Service – Provides credit ratings, research and market data • NCREIF – Provides data, performance measurement, analytics, standards and education for private real estate • Standard and Poor's – Publishes index data and credit ratings
