Private assets definition: • Private assets include various strategies and asset types that are unavailable through public market exchanges. Sub-asset classes: • Buyouts: Acquisition of established companies with the goal of generating value by professionalizing the business, improving the operations, and introducing strategic changes. • Growth: Typically founder-owned companies operating in-between the buyout and venture capital stage in a company's life cycle and seeking capital in the form of minority equity to continue growth. • Venture Capital: Companies that are relatively young with promising technology or business plans that require capital to expand into new markets and/or reach new customers. • Private Debt: Includes any form of lending that does not come from a traditional bank. While there are many varieties, the most common structure involves non-bank institutions making loans to private companies. • Real Estate: Active, direct ownership in real estate properties through debt or equity securities. • Infrastructure: Tangible, real property interests in sectors such as renewable energy, transportation, digital infrastructure, social infrastructure, and utilities.
