Compared with February 2020, employment has grown by 7.4% - there are 105K more employed ‾ Unemployment in Greater Perth is 4.3%. In the Rest of WA the unemployment rate is 3.7%. ‾ 11.8% of employment in WA is in the Public Sector. ‾ There are 33K fewer people employed in the Public Sector than in the November quarter, this represents a fall of 15.5%. ‾ There were 53K vacancies across Western Australia of which ~7% were in the Public Sector. ‾ Construction & Manufacturing and Health & Social Care are the largest industry employers and have experienced significant growth compared to February 2020. ‾ Year on Year inflation to the March quarter was 5.8% in Perth which is lower than the Australian Capital City weighted average of 7.0%.
