Employment in the Northern Territory was 7.4% (~10K) higher than February 2022. This Growth has been driven by the Private Sector. ‾ The unemployment rate in the Northern Territory is up slightly from last quarter and is now 4.8%. ‾ ~28% of employment in the Northern Territory is in the Public Sector. ‾ 17.5% of Public Sector workers are Part-Time. ‾ There were 6.8K vacancies across the Northern Territory of which ~18% were in the Public Sector. ‾ Compared to February 2020, there has been large increases in employment in the Health & Social Care Industry while there has been a significant decrease in Public Admin & Safety. ‾ Year on Year inflation to the March quarter was 6.2% in Darwin which is lower than the Australian Capital City weighted average of 7.0%.
