first 6 months of 2023 than in any first half of the
year for the decade preceding the pandemic.
• The average number of US workers taking vacation
from January through June went from 2.3 million in
2022 to 2.6 million in 2023, up some 11%.
• The US is the only advanced economy in the world
that doesn't guarantee workers paid vacation days
— nearly a third of US employees have no access
to paid time off at all.
