TAKE YOUR DOG ON A TOUR. With grassy squares and pic- turesque streets, Savannah is a dog-friendly city. Fido can join you for a historic tour with Oliver Bentleys Historic Dog Walk Tour. You'll learn plenty of history about the city as you stroll with your pup. (Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?) HAVE A (BANANA) BALL. Catch a Savannah Bananas game at Grayson Stadium, where players on stilts, fl aming bats and mid-pitch dance parties are all just part of the game. LEARN WITH A LAUGH. At Savannah for Morons, The Comedy Trolley Tour, you'll enjoy a witty Savannah history lesson on wheels featuring musical numbers, costume changes and plenty of giggles. DON'T FORGET LADY CHABLIS. Visit Club One to see where the legendary drag icon performed. This three-story venue features drag shows, plenty of dancing and the Club One Cabaret. SMASH AWAY YOUR STRESS. At Smithereens, you can safely blow off steam with the help of sledgehammers (and safety goggles) to break and bust up designated materials. "You break it, you buy it" defi nitely doesn't apply here. WITNESS A DUEL … BETWEEN PIANOS. The music is as fi erce as the competition at Savannah Smiles Dueling Pianos Saloon, a raucous, rocking nightlife spot where the audience picks the tunes. GO REALLY, REALLY GREEN. From early to mid-March, the city is at its greenest. Check out the Forsyth Park fountain, dyed an emerald hue for arguably the second-largest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the country. TOAST TO HONEST ABE. At Abe's on Lincoln, you'll fi nd paper- napkin portraits of our 16th president on nearly every square inch of this charmingly scruffy bar. You can even add to the art by requesting extra napkins and a pen. A Bit on the Weird Side WE'RE A LITTLE BIT QUIRKY — AND PROUD OF IT. FROM DYEING THE FORSYTH FOUNTAIN GREEN TO INVENTING A BRAND-NEW SPORT, THERE ARE COUNTLESS ONLY-IN-SAVANNAH EXPERIENCES. ON THE GO & SUSTAINABLE Savannah is one of only a handful of places in the United States where you can to take your alcoholic beverage to-go and enjoy it on the street — responsibly, of course! The city's open container law applies to the city's Historic District entertainment zone, bounded by Jones Street to the south, River Street to the north, East Broad Street to the east and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to the west. Savannah has recently launched an aluminum cup program, with many bars and restaurants offering eco-friendly, reusable aluminum to-go cups for free. Sustainability tastes good — and makes for a good souvenir. @ S A V A N N A H 2 G O Savannah Bananas 16 = NUMBER OF OUNCES IN A TO-GO CUP (You can carry it with you in the Historic District!) @ S T E P H E N Y C H A U S A V A N N A H B A N A N A S 40 VisitSavannah.com | VisitTybee.com
