Smart products and machines can be a new revenue goldmine, helping a company move beyond a one-time sales model. Let's explore how predictive maintenance and data-driven scheduling can help. Turn MRO into a competitive advantage with predictive maintenance With AWS, you can transform maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) from a cost center to a competitive advantage. AWS Kinesis, for example, collects, processes, and helps you analyze real-time, streaming data from your smart products and machines, and Amazon Lookout for Equipment can detect abnormal machine behavior. Together with other AWS and AWS Partner services, they help enable preventive maintenance, so you can complete repairs or recommend spare parts before downtime occurs. This allows for automatic scheduling of service technicians along with advance information about what may be broken, what parts are needed, and how to fix the problem, which lowers costs and improves first time repair rate. Improve contract profitability with data- driven scheduling Scheduled, efficient, on-time technician visits can improve the profitability of long-term contracts. AWS and AWS Partner solutions offer ML and decision optimization to support data- driven maintenance technician scheduling. For example, you can use AWS IoT infrastructure, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon Forecast to develop a predictive model with the data collected from your smart products and machines to anticipate maintenance needs with a high degree of accuracy and plan for technicians accordingly. Generate new revenue streams with digital customer engagement How Arneg puts downtime on ice with 80% accuracy Arneg SpA (Arneg), a global leader in commercial refrigeration manufacturing, wanted to improve its customer and maintenance services as its revenue models expanded. Using its AWS IoT infrastructure and Amazon Forecast, it developed a fully managed service that uses ML for forecasting. Arneg can now predict maintenance needs with over 80 percent accuracy, greatly reducing refrigeration downtime for its global customers. Read the full story ›
