LESSONS LEARNED Moto And Quad Teams Ride Fast And With Caution By Dan Sanchez Photos By Get Some Photo After a DQ during the SCORE San Felipe 250, and finishing second after penalties at the SCORE Baja 500, the 7x Pro Moto Unlimited SD Powerhouse team of Justin Morgan and Tyler Lynn earned their first victory of the season. According to Morgan, this is a new team this season and Lynn is getting his rhythm where they have the formula to win. The 11x H.E.R.O. team of Arturo Salas Jr. did a fantastic job again in this race, but the 7x team worked to reduce penalties and hit most of their VCPs to put the 11x team into second place. “I feel good about our race,” said Salas Jr. “The most important thing for us is always being safe and sound and that our riders and our chase team are all here and doing well. We’re very happy and proud that we made it to the finish line.” With the 1x team of Juan Carlos Salvatierra finishing in third, this sets up an incredible challenge for the SCORE Baja 1000 in November. These top three teams will have to race at a fast pace, but also be cautious to not make mistakes or have any technical issues to win. In other Pro Moto classes, Armando Ortiz and the 110x team had a tough race against the 114x team of Ely Ramirez and the 117x team of Doug Grigg. During the last 50 miles, Ricardo Velez on the 110x bike pushed forward to take the lead and gave the team their third victory in a row this season. Finishing first in Pro Moto 30 was the 304x team of Juan Esteban Miranda for their first win of the season. In Pro Moto 50, Mike Prunty and the 547x team also had their third straight win of the season. The 616x team of Harold Harris rode to their second class victory of the season. Pro Moto Ironman had five competitors who battled extremely hard across the harsh course. Only three made it to the finish line with Brian Roberts on the 788x Honda taking the win. The Pro Moto Adventure class had the 805x team of Dustin Davis take the class win. Making it to the podium for the third time this season, the 31a team of Estevan Ramirez Jr. took the class win in the Pro Quad Class. His first after a second-place finish at the SCORE Baja 500 and a third-place finish at the SCORE San Felipe 250. Andy Valencia ant eh 236x team won the Sportsman Moto class and the 110a team of Irlamm Gutierrez won the Sportsman Quad class. SJ
