SAN QUINTIN San Quintin, declared a municipality in 2023 with an extension of 32,953.25 square kilometers. It is one of the most gastronomically, culturally and geographically diverse places in Baja California. A paradise where you will find the cold and wild coasts of the Pacific Ocean, passing through deserts, oasis and valleys where you will be accompanied by giant Cirios, a species of endemic fauna, until you reach the warm and crystalline waters of the Gulf of California, home of the whale shark. Ecotourism Visitors have a variety of outdoor activities to do with amazing natural views such as volcano hiking, bird watching in nature reserves like Punta Mazo, visit virgin beaches and explore the wetlands by kayak. South of the municipality is La Lobera, home to thousands of sea lions, following the road you can find archaeological sites such as Mesa del Carmen where our ancestors carved part of their life and customs in rocks arriving at Bahia de los Angeles you can take boat rides where you will swim and be in contact with the impressive whale shark and other marine species. Gastronomy The diversity that exists in the municipality makes the cuisine have unmatched richness and authenticity. The seas generate species unique to the region such as the Pismo clam, being the largest producer of oyster and other species of mollusks. Vegetables, berries and legumes are harvested in the fields. This makes the freshness of the sea and the fertility of the fields merge to create unique flavors at the hands of chefs from restaurants such as Jardines Baja, Cueva del Pirata,Finca de Terra , Kuu Pauu, Posada Don Diego, Molino Viejo, among others. And places like Barra de Piedra, Mariscos el Ruso and Los Humedales, offer diners the flavor and freshness of the sea in each of their dishes. San Quintin not only stands out and captivates for its gastronomy and landscapes, it is also a great producer of quality craft beer. Some of the Valley’s brewers are Circulo Cerrado, Pocima, Contramar Brewery’s , Sape Beer, Marea and Wiwis Cerveceria, which create beer flavors using regional products, such as Berry Breeze from Marea, a Fruit Beer style , refreshing to the palate with light notes of berries and, Nautilus from Wiwis Cerveceria, a dark Oyster Stout style beer, with flavors and notes of chocolate, coffee and oyster. In addition to craft beers, visitors can enjoy wines made in the region. Among the main wineries is Vinicola Becerra, which has a wide variety of wines, tours and tastings in their vineyards, as well as Finca de Terra and Love Vino artesanal.
