As autumn arrived, I became intensely aware of the
change of light and the gorgeous golden hues in the
surrounding countryside. Samuel Palmer used a lot of
warm autumnal colours in his landscapes, particularly
'The Harvest Moon', 'The Magic Apple Tree' and
'The Golden Valley'. With this in mind, I was inspired
to create an imaginary abstract landscape as a bird
might view it, responding to the colours present in
Palmer's work.
