50 DEBBIE FARQUHARSON The artwork 'Apples over Shoreham' was inspired by visiting Shoreham – I live very close in Seal. This is an imaginary group of apples hanging over a suggestion of a landscape in some of the colours Palmer used in 'The Magic Apple Tree'. I based it on photos from Shoreham and of the apple tree in my garden. He used watercolour and pencil and I've used both with some pastel and Inktense pencils too. A sense of Romanticism was intended to be portrayed. The second painting is called 'Bountiful Red Apples', watercolour and inktense pencils on paper, a painting with lots of drawing elements in Inktense pencils and vibrant colours with a more expressive atmosphere, portraying a bountiful, juicy group of apples.
