AMANDA HOPKINS
Samuel Palmer's Shoreham paintings are often
an assemblage of different views, details, places,
encounters he had whilst walking through the
Darenth Valley. My work begins at one of Palmer's
ancient Oaks in Lullingstone Park with a large on-
site charcoal drawing which was subsequently
torn apart (disassembled) and recreated into
fragments. 'October Residue' reunites a facsimile
of the original drawing together with its parts in
response to Palmer and to honour that particular
Oak on that particular day in October.
