After years of competing, LiveBarn Inc. and MNHockey.Tv, two names synonymous with live streaming of youth and high school hockey games, are working together as one. In December of 2023, LiveBarn, the largest automated live streaming provid- er of youth sports in the world purchased MNHockey.Tv. LiveBarn COO Ray Giroux respects the uniqueness of Minnesota Hockey and how it is treasured in the State of Hockey. LiveBarn did not want to bring a broad brush and erase the lega- cy of MNHockey.Tv and instead wanted to grow it. "From the onset, we've tried to bring LiveBarn and our technology to as many hockey families as pos- sible across North America," Giroux said. "No state in the U.S. has more hockey players and ice rinks than Minnesota. When we became aware of MNHockey.Tv, we appreci- ated what they were doing and thought they'd be a great complement to the LiveBarn network. We see great poten- tial in this state and think that what we're doing with the high school network will be something that we expand to other states in future seasons." Services that are provided include live streaming with full production, announcers on select games, image and video overlays, replay, and eventually multi-camera pro- ductions, all executed in automation. Announcers can deliver services and full production both on and off site allowing for increased coverage statewide. MNHockey.Tv is teaming up with key leadership groups such as Minnesota Hockey and the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association. "Our strategic partnerships are key and delivering a high-end streaming experience is our goal while using all the production elements at our disposal," Director of Hockey Media Services Pete Waggoner said. Games this year will be streamed the same as they have in previ- ous seasons with one exception. All LiveBarn venues will have high school hockey games pointed to the MNHockey.Tv platform that now features 223 boys and girls teams. "This year the high school hockey fan in Minnesota will now have many more games to view on MNHockey.Tv. By expanding the list of MNHockey.Tv venues as well as tapping into all current Minnesota LiveBarn rinks, we will stream four times as many games as previous seasons. Our network of play-by-play announcers is growing, meaning that viewers will experience a better product than ever before. These technological enhancements will also trickle down to the youth space more and more each season," Giroux said. "We've still got some work to do, but next season the plan is to put Minnesota youth hockey on LiveBarn, while leaving MNHockey.Tv to stream high school games. Unifying our technology across all of the state's rinks is a massive undertaking but we're confident we'll be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season," Director of Operations Tom McCarter said. The long game will be a win for the Minnesota hockey fan with MNHockey.Tv and LiveBarn proving to be better together. Better Together M H J ON L I N E .
