A different shade of blue
This issue we look into a different
shade of blue. Sky blue, that is.
Where airlines are concerned,
the Middle Eastern carriers have
certainly taken a fair share of the
Asian markets. With expanded
reach, the appetite for more
business and leisure travellers to
venture to newer destinations has
also increased.
During my meeting with Mr
Issekeshev, he assured that the
new capital is getting a masterplan,
ready to welcome more high
net worth, international tourists.
Already, the city's skyline, with
buildings the crafts of internationally
acclaimed architects like Noam
Foster and Kisho Kurokawa, had
left me beyond impressed with the
panorama of all things shiny, modern
and clean.
"I moved here into this office
as a deputy minister, ten years ago.
It was a flat land. But open up the

Perhaps in the eyes of the state
government, tourism still needs a
major push. Personally, I think there
is beauty in the unknown and for
that, this pearl of Central Asia is
ready to take on its own breed of
travellers, who are game for a great
experience to uncover what lies
within that merging point of Europe
and Asia.
Pick-a-Boo-Boo!
AUSTRALIA – Tourism Western
Australia has picked a name for
the seven metre male whale shark
which it adopted, in honour of
Trent D'Silva, a 15-year-old boy
from Perth, who passed on six
months ago from a brain tumour.
The adopted whale shark which was
tagged in Ningaloo Marine Park,
has been named 'Boo Boo', after
D'Silva's nickname. D'Silva swam
with the whale sharks at Ningaloo
last year as a wish after he was
diagnosed with the tumour.
"It was a highlight of his short
life," said his mother Leonna.
"When we saw the competition to
name the adopted whale shark we
thought it would be a lovely way to
