Minnesota Leads the Nation with 18 Players
on PWHL Opening Day Rosters
As the 2024-25 PWHL regular season commenced, Minnesota raised the inaugural Walter
Cup championship banner at Xcel Energy Center. But the State of Hockey has even more
reason to celebrate: a nation-leading 18 Minnesotans were listed on active PWHL rosters.
Of the 18 players, all of them played high school hockey in Minnesota, with 15 different high
schools being represented (11 public and 4 private). All 18 of them played high school
hockey through their senior year.
