A aron Kabanuk takes a rare opportunity to soak it all in. As the Sports Center Facility Supervisor for the Fargo Park District in Fargo, North Dakota, those moments are few and far between—and he wouldn't have it any other way. Since the completion of Phase II of the Fargo Parks Sports Center in January, his schedule has been packed. "We just got done with our 10U inter- national tournaments, where each week- end 64 teams came through the doors," he said. "But with that, we had people walking in from all over the country— A rizona, Florida, A laska—and every- body is just in awe that we have this in our community. They want one in theirs. So that's really cool to hear. The capabil- ity we have, the capacity we have—we're really lucky." A Game-Changing Expansion The first phase of the Fargo Parks Sports Center debuted in May 2024, spanning approximately 290,000 square feet. It was designed primarily as a home for the Sanford Sports Academy's basketball and volleyball programs, featuring four hardwood courts, a multi-use indoor turf field, an elevated 350-meter, three-lane walk ing track, a championship court with a second- f loor skybox, community and meeting rooms, food and beverage services, a sports shop, Fargo Park District staff offices, a Midco-sponsored lounge, and the Sanford Sports Performance gym. It also included pitching and batting cages.
