MOBILE EQUIPMENT & PEDESTRIAN SAFETY PAGE | 2 INTRODUCTION Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) has recently embarked on an exciting project to explore the latest advancements in mobile equipment, warehouse safety, and pedestrian safety technologies. Our goal is to create a high-level guidance document that showcases various technologies, their intended purposes, and user experiences to help organizations make informed decisions. As part of this initiative, we have engaged with organizations that have implemented these technologies to gather valuable feedback on key aspects. In this document, you will find insights into various available solutions designed to enhance pedestrian safety and reduce mobile equipment incidents, including positive experiences, implementation considerations, lessons learned, and the impact these solutions have had on hazard control. Please note that this guidance document does not offer an exhaustive list of available technologies, nor does it endorse any specific technology. Instead, it aims to provide guidance on a select number of common safety technologies and devices available to protect the health and safety of your workers, based on feedback from organizations that have implemented and used these technologies. As we continue to learn about current technologies and as new technologies emerge, this document will be updated accordingly. Date Issued: April 2025
