2025 USE CASE Fire Safety Solutions with LoRaWAN ® : Where Intelligence Meets Safety In large industrial campuses, particularly in the automobile sector, fire safety is critical due to the presence of flammable materials and high-value goods. The facility spans over 300 acres, making it logistically challenging to manually inspect each fire hydrant. The lack of a real-time monitoring system increased their vulnerability to unexpected fire hazards. SITUATION A leading automobile manufacturer in India with a 300-acre campus faced a critical fire safety issue. The facility lacked any monitoring system for the fire hydrant network, resulting in a major fire incident. During the event, water was unavailable due to undetected low pressure caused by a pipeline leakage. The absence of real-time visibility and early warnings prevented the personnel from taking timely action, causing significant damage to goods and infrastructure. ISSUE The existing fire safety system suffered from multiple shortcomings: • No Real-Time Monitoring: There was no system in place to monitor fire hydrant pressure, water flow, or leakage across the campus. • Delayed Response During Emergencies: The absence of early warnings led to severe damages during a fire outbreak. • Manual Checks: Fire hydrants had to be manually inspected, which was inefficient and impractical for such a vast area. • Unidentified Leaks: Water pipeline leaks went unnoticed, causing low pressure or complete unavailability during critical times. • Power Dependency in High-Risk Zones: Installing power-operated devices at fire hydrant points posed a major reliability risk. In the event of a fire, power infrastructure is often the first to fail, making such devices inoperable precisely when they're needed most. COMPANY CONTACT INFO Enthu Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. https://iot.enthutech.in/industry/ iot@enthutech.in SOLUTION Leveraging LoRaWAN technology, Enthutech designed and implemented a centralized fire hydrant monitoring solution for the entire facility. The solution included: • Campus-Wide Coverage: A fully localized LoRaWAN network was deployed to cover the entire 300-acre area. • Real-Time Data Acquisition: Pressure, flow, and leak detection sensors were installed on each fire hydrant. • Independent source of operation: Provided battery operated LoRaWAN Devices for reliable and independent operation. Provides seamless connectivity for 3-Years. • On Prime Internet-Free Secure Access: For data security compliance, independent LoRaWAN Network server was hosted within the customer premises, with no need for internet. • Real-Time Alerts for Proactive Protection: Instant alerts on anomalies enabled preventive maintenance and significantly improved safety preparedness. Solution Outcome: ➢ 100% Visibility across all fire hydrants ➢ Secure, On-Premise Data Access with no dependency on external networks ➢ Early Leak & Low-Pressure Alerts, preventing future safety risks ➢ Proactive Maintenance planning, reducing downtime and damage risk ➢ Zero Man efforts for fire hydrant monitoring Industry India Solution
