MARTY TANNER, DVM Raised on a working ranch in Animas, New Mexico, I developed a strong foundation in agriculture and animal care through active involvement in 4-H, FFA, NHS, and High School Rodeo, while also participating in basketball, volleyball, and track. My passion for veterinary medicine led me to earn rodeo and academic scholarships to Western Texas College and West Texas A&M University. I later completed the Veterinary Technology Program at Sul Ross State University. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience in mixed animal and equine referral practices across New Mexico and Texas. My journey includes two years as a lab instructor in the Veterinary Technology Program at Sul Ross and six years of clinical work at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station. Currently, I serve as an adjunct professor in the Veterinary Technology Program at Weatherford College, where I teach equine clinical management and assist with various clinical labs. I also operate a nationwide relief technician business, specializing in equine anesthesia services. My combined teaching, clinical, and field experience fuels my commitment to advancing the practice and education of veterinary technology, particularly in equine medicine. LISA M.
