hen the Honda Off-Road Factory Racing team came to compete
at the 2025 SCORE Baja 500, they amazed racers and fans by
winning the SCORE Pro UTV N/A class with the latest Honda Talon
SXS, and with Corbin Leverton behind the wheel, a driver who had
never raced in Baja. While the performance of Leverton and the
Honda Talon was impressive, Honda Racing's team principal Jeff Proctor knew
the combination was the team's best chance for success. "Corbin had Dakar and
stateside racing experience, but never raced in Baja," he said. "I was able to put a
deal together and he utilized my experiences down there and he was able to put it
all together for the win."
Proctor has been working with Honda for quite some time, testing the limits
of the Talon and Ridgeline components in extreme off-road racing conditions.
"It's been an honor to represent Honda for the 11th year running," he said. "We
represent a brand that understands the importance of racing and puts that energy
at a high level." At the SCORE Baja 500, Proctor also had Ethan Ebert, another
young but experienced racer, take on the SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD class in a V6
powered Honda Ridgeline. Eberts was the top qualifier in the class and finished in
second place. It was another stunning showcase for the Honda team and its efforts.
